John played Tom the security officer of the supermarket in the episode the longest night along with Max Harvey (Mr Peterson) and Vas Blackwood (Lennox).

John is currently starring in the BBC's soap Eastenders as Robbie and Sonya's grandfather, Jim Braner, he has also starred in episodes of Rumpole of the old Bailey, Get Back and the stage show of Dad's Army (as Private Walker Hanish). He also starred with John Clease in the film Clockwise.
